Tomorrow's Research Publications (TRP) is an independent, open-access scholarly publisher committed to giving researchers a rigorous, transparent, and genuinely free venue to share their work — with no cost to authors and no paywall for readers, across every journal we run.
We started TRP on a simple observation: some of the most interesting research happening right now sits at the edges of established fields, or in areas that are moving faster than traditional publishing can keep up with. Rather than forcing that work into journals built around older disciplinary boundaries, we're building a portfolio of focused, clearly scoped journals — each one dedicated to a specific, well-defined area of study, run by editors who actually work in that field.
What we publish. TRP's journals span the life sciences, computational and physical sciences, and the ethical and social questions that come with new research — from cellular biology and genomics to machine learning theory and climate science. Each journal has its own aims, scope, and editorial board, but all of them are held to the same standards.
How we operate. Every TRP journal follows the same core commitments, regardless of subject area:
- Rigorous peer review. Every submission goes through double-blind peer review by independent subject-matter experts before a publication decision is made.
- No fees, anywhere. TRP does not charge authors an Article Processing Charge or any other publication fee. We operate as a diamond open-access publisher — free to publish, free to read, permanently.
- Full open access. All published articles are immediately and permanently freely available under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, with authors retaining copyright of their own work.
- Publication ethics. We follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines on authorship, data integrity, plagiarism, and conflicts of interest, and every submission is screened for originality using iThenticate before entering review.
- Long-term preservation. Published content is archived through CLOCKSS, LOCKSS, and the PKP Preservation Network, so it remains accessible even in the event a journal or the publisher itself were to cease operating.
- Editorial independence. TRP provides the infrastructure and editorial support behind each journal, but does not influence individual editorial decisions — those rest entirely with each journal's editors and editorial board.
Who we're for. TRP exists for researchers who want their work reviewed seriously, published quickly, and read by anyone who needs it — not locked behind a subscription or slowed down by unnecessary fees. Whether you're an early-career researcher publishing your first paper or an established scientist opening up a new line of work, our aim is the same: get rigorous research in front of the people who can use it, as fast as good peer review allows.
Where we're headed. TRP is a young publisher, and we're building deliberately rather than quickly — growing our editorial boards, establishing our publication track record, and working toward recognized indexing (DOAJ, Scopus, and beyond) the way any credible publisher has to: by publishing consistently, transparently, and well, issue after issue.
