About the Journal

Connectome, published by Tomorrow's Research Publications (TRP), is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal covering the mapping and function of neural connections — from the wiring diagrams of individual circuits to whole-brain connectivity networks. We publish original research and critical reviews on how neural connectivity is measured, modeled, and linked to behavior and disease.

Scope. We welcome submissions on (but not limited to):

  • Structural and functional brain connectivity (MRI, DTI, fMRI-based mapping)
  • Connectomics methods and large-scale neural circuit reconstruction
  • Graph-theoretic analysis of brain networks
  • Connectivity changes in neurological and psychiatric disease
  • Comparative connectomics across species
  • Development and aging of neural connectivity
  • Computational and machine learning methods for connectome analysis
  • Links between connectivity patterns and cognition or behavior

Peer review. Every submission goes through double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers with relevant subject expertise, coordinated by our editorial board. We aim to give authors a timely first decision, and reviewers with a personal, financial, or institutional connection to a submitted manuscript are recused from the process.

Open access. All articles in Connectome are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license, with no subscription or paywall for readers, and no fee charged to authors for publication.

Publication ethics. Connectome follows Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines on authorship, data integrity, plagiarism, and conflicts of interest. Submissions are screened for originality before entering peer review, and we maintain a clear process for handling misconduct allegations, including correction and retraction where warranted. Studies involving human or animal subjects are expected to confirm ethics committee/IRB or IACUC approval.

Who we are. Connectome is edited by a board of active researchers working across neuroscience, neuroimaging, and computational biology. The journal is published by Tomorrow's Research Publications (TRP), an independent open-access publisher building rigorously reviewed journals in emerging and underserved research areas.
