Aims. Chromatin takes a narrower cut than genomics generally: sequence tells you what a gene could do, chromatin state tells you what it's actually doing. We treat chromatin biology as its own discipline rather than a subsection of a broader genomics journal.
Scope. The journal covers:
- Histone modification and the "histone code"
- Chromatin remodeling complexes and mechanisms
- 3D genome organization and nuclear architecture (Hi-C, chromosome conformation)
- DNA methylation and other epigenetic marks
- Chromatin's role in transcriptional regulation
- Chromatin dynamics in development and cell differentiation
- Chromatin dysregulation in cancer and disease
- Chromatin and aging/cellular senescence
- Computational and imaging methods for chromatin structure analysis
Article types. Original research, imaging/structural studies, and critical reviews.
Audience. Epigeneticists, molecular biologists, structural biologists, and cancer researchers.
