Aims. Biosynth focuses specifically on biosynthesis — how living systems build complex molecules, and how researchers redesign those pathways for production. Where Synthetica takes a broad view of synthetic systems, Biosynth stays narrowly focused on biosynthetic pathways and production biology, treating it as a discipline in its own right.
Scope. The journal covers:
- Metabolic engineering and biosynthetic pathway design and optimization
- Microbial and yeast-based production platforms (E. coli, S. cerevisiae, and others)
- Enzyme engineering and directed evolution for novel biosynthesis
- Biosynthesis of pharmaceuticals, natural products, and specialty chemicals
